P is working on learning the states and capitals... I quiz him by saying a state or a capital, and he has to answer withe the capital or state, as the case may be. He's been doing pretty well. He was tripping up, saying the capital of Michigan was Nebraska. We straightened that out. Next, the Dakotas. It can be tough. Here's what the quick conversation was like:
Me: Remember the image I gave you to remember the Dakotas? You are in France, laying down, eating a donut. (Is a Bismarck a donut? Well, it is now.) [meaning, Pierre, South Dakota; Bismarck, North Dakota]
P: okay.
Me: [flash cards laying out in front of him] South Dakota.
P: Pierre.
Me: South Dakota.
P: Pierre.
Me: North Dakota.
P: Lincoln.
